1988 Pirelli Tires
Pirelli Tires and Ferrari, two prestigious brands in the automotive world, have been lighting the racetrack on fire side by side since the very beginning of motorsport. The Milanese tire company was founded by Leopoldo Pirelli in 1872, and his tires quickly earned the nickname 'victory tires'. With a focus on racing over building road cars, Enzo Ferrari decided early on that it was only right that every stallion in the Scuderia had Pirelli shoes — from his earliest racing cars right on down the line to the drop-dead gorgeous Ferrari F40, a poster car if there ever was one.
This stylized 1980s ad gives us the best profile of the F40. Why do we say that? Well, if you ask a child to draw a race car, more often than not, they'd drawing something very close to this silhouette — angular, aggressive, and low to the ground. Speaking of art, this stunning advert features a paint splatted backdrop to the Rosso Corsa draped F40.
Curated by our friends at Ad Patina, this ad is presented in a 12 1/2” x 15” solid wood frame with a black painted finish. It features a custom-measured, hand-cut 4-ply border in a shade of white, complimenting all the ad tones.
